A well-studied option, chosen with you

Hormone therapy with approved preparations is a well-studied option for perimenopause, menopause, cycle problems and thyroid disorders. It uses licensed products in standard doses, available from any pharmacy, for example as gels, patches, sprays or tablets.

Whether it suits you is decided together in your consultation, based on your symptoms, your medical history, your personal risk factors and how well you tolerated previous treatments. Some women prefer it; for others, it simply fits their situation better than bioidentical hormones.

No hormone therapy is completely risk-free. That’s why we weigh the benefits and risks for you personally, adjust your treatment step by step and monitor your progress regularly.

What your therapy is based on

  • Your symptoms
  • Your medical history
  • Your personal risk factors
  • How well you tolerated previous treatments

Bioidentical vs. conventional hormone therapy

Bioidentical hormones are molecule for molecule identical to the hormones your body produces itself. Many conventional preparations contain synthetic hormones, whose chemical structure is slightly different from your body’s own.

How Things Work

Three easy steps, no waiting room.

  1. Book an Appointment

Choose a time that suits you and book online in just a few clicks. If you have recent blood work or would like to fill in your medical history form, you can share them beforehand in your patient portal.

Your doctor will review your symptoms and any lab results you already have, decide with you which tests are needed and discuss your treatment options in detail. Where appropriate, prescribed medications can be delivered directly to you at home.

  3. Follow-Up Care

Your treatment will be reviewed regularly and adjusted as needed. Your patient portal will keep you up-to-date and connected with your doctor between appointments.

Everything happens in one secure place, from booking and blood results to follow-up care. You’ll always know what comes next.

Important information

Online consultations suit most patients. If a physical examination or further diagnostics, such as an ultrasound or mammogram, are medically necessary, your doctor will recommend the appropriate next step.

Frequently asked questions

What does “bioidentical” mean, and when are individually prepared hormones an option?

“Bioidentical” (also called “body-identical”) means the hormone has exactly the same chemical structure as the hormone your body makes.

For almost all of our patients, we work with specialised compounding pharmacies. Which therapy you receive is always decided individually, based on your symptoms, your medical history, your personal risk factors and how well you tolerated previous treatments.

Conventional vs. bioidentical hormone therapy

I’m taking the pill or another hormone therapy. Can I switch to bioidentical hormone therapy?

In principle, yes. Whether and how a switch makes sense depends on why you are taking your current medication and whether you still need reliable contraception.

Important: bioidentical hormone therapy is not a method of contraception and cannot replace one.

What are the risks and side effects of hormone therapy?

No hormone therapy is completely risk-free, but the risk varies greatly from woman to woman. It depends on factors such as age, when treatment starts, existing conditions, family history and the type, dose, form and duration of treatment.

Temporary side effects such as breast tenderness, bleeding, headaches or water retention can occur. That’s why we weigh the benefits and risks for you personally and monitor your progress regularly.

How long does it take before I notice a difference?

That is very individual. Some women feel a difference within days or weeks. For others, it takes two to three months to find the right dose.

We adjust your treatment step by step until it fits you.

How long does hormone therapy last? Is there a fixed time to start or stop?

There is no fixed maximum duration and no fixed cut-off date. Whether treatment is started or continued depends on your symptoms, your personal risks and the benefit for you.

We reassess this regularly. If you want to stop, or if it makes medical sense, we discuss the right approach and possible alternatives together.

Can my symptoms come back if I stop treatment?

They can. It depends on what we are treating and how: whether the treatment eases your symptoms while you take it, or addresses a cause that can be resolved.

If you want to stop, we plan the next steps carefully with you.
