Bioidentical hormone therapy

Bioidentical hormones have exactly the same molecular structure as the hormones your body produces itself, which is why your body recognises them as its own. Your hormone preparations are tailored to you and made for you by a specialised compounding pharmacy. They are based on your individual treatment plan, which we create from your symptoms, your lab results and your goals, and adjust as your treatment progresses.

Hormones identical to your body’s own

“Bioidentical” (also called “body-identical”) means a hormone has exactly the same chemical structure as the hormone your body makes. This includes estradiol, estriol, progesterone, DHEA and testosterone. A specialised compounding pharmacy prepares them individually for you, for example as capsules, creams, gels, ointments or suppositories.

Bioidentical hormone therapy can make sense in perimenopause as well as after menopause, if your symptoms affect your quality of life and your personal benefit-risk assessment supports it. It is not necessary for every woman.

Your dose is not a standard one: it is based on your symptoms and blood values and adjusted step by step until it fits you. Some women feel a difference within days or weeks; for others, finding the right dose takes two to three months.

We work with our own protocols and, on request, with the Rimkus method. Our prescriptions are valid within the EU.

How Things Work

Three easy steps, no waiting room.

  1. Book an Appointment

Choose a time that suits you and book online in just a few clicks. If you have recent blood work or would like to fill in your medical history form, you can share them beforehand in your patient portal.

  2. Initial Video Consultation

Your doctor will review your symptoms and any lab results you already have, decide with you which tests are needed and discuss your treatment options in detail. Where appropriate, prescribed medications can be delivered directly to you at home.

  3. Follow-Up Care

Your treatment will be reviewed regularly and adjusted as needed. Your patient portal will keep you up-to-date and connected with your doctor between appointments.

Everything happens in one secure place, from booking and blood results to follow-up care. You’ll always know what comes next.

Important information

Online consultations suit most patients. If a physical examination or further diagnostics, such as an ultrasound or mammogram, are medically necessary, your doctor will recommend the appropriate next step.

Frequently asked questions

What does “bioidentical” mean, and when are individually prepared hormones an option?

“Bioidentical” (also called “body-identical”) means the hormone has exactly the same chemical structure as the hormone your body makes.

For almost all of our patients, we work with specialised compounding pharmacies. Which therapy you receive is always decided individually, based on your symptoms, your medical history, your personal risk factors and how well you tolerated previous treatments.

Conventional vs. bioidentical hormone therapy

How long does it take before I notice a difference?

That is very individual. Some women feel a difference within days or weeks. For others, it takes two to three months to find the right dose.

We adjust your treatment step by step until it fits you.

What are the risks and side effects of hormone therapy?

No hormone therapy is completely risk-free, but the risk varies greatly from woman to woman. It depends on factors such as age, when treatment starts, existing conditions, family history and the type, dose, form and duration of treatment.

Temporary side effects such as breast tenderness, bleeding, headaches or water retention can occur. That’s why we weigh the benefits and risks for you personally and monitor your progress regularly.
